Editorial Policy
Publisher: Jan Christian · Editorial identity: FODMAP Gut Diet Editorial Team
FODMAP Gut Diet publishes educational information, not individualized medical advice. We separate source-backed facts from practical suggestions and avoid presenting a food or meal as universally tolerated.
How content is produced
- We define the question a page should answer and identify the relevant source type.
- Food portion guidance is checked against current Monash University FODMAP resources when available to us. General health context uses primary research, clinical guidelines, or recognized medical institutions.
- Restaurant guides prioritize first-party ingredient, nutrition, allergen, and menu information. Because recipes and suppliers change, every restaurant conclusion is conditional on the cited market and verification date.
- Editors remove absolute promises, distinguish “low FODMAP” from “symptom-free,” and include individual-tolerance and professional-care context.
- Material updates receive a new modified or last-verified date. Cosmetic changes do not.
Authorship and review labels
Pages authored collectively are credited to the FODMAP Gut Diet Editorial Team. A named clinician is shown only when that person has actually reviewed the page. Content without a medical-review label has not been independently reviewed by a clinician.
Commercial independence
The site promotes GutMate, an app from the same publisher. That relationship is disclosed on our About page. App promotion does not change the evidence standard applied to editorial pages.
